Meet the Photographer

Hello, I'm Ryan

I photograph athletes, students, teams, events, and businesses around Williamsburg and Hampton Roads. My commercial work includes projects for Lululemon, and a lot of what I do comes back to the same things: timing, light, movement, and making people comfortable in front of the camera.

On the sports side, I work with high school programs, club teams, and individual athletes. That can mean sideline action, a media day at your facility, or portraits for a single senior athlete. I am also SafeSport Trained, which matters when I am working with youth teams and minors.

For seniors, I try to make photos that feel like the person in them. For businesses, I make headshots and brand images for websites, profiles, and marketing materials. For live events and concerts, I lean on the same instincts I use in sports: watch the light, read the room, and be ready.

Frequently Asked Questions

Sports are a big part of my work. I photograph game action, media days, team portraits, and individual athlete sessions for soccer, lacrosse, volleyball, football, gymnastics, swimming, track and field, and more. I work with youth leagues, high school programs, and club teams across Hampton Roads.

Yes. I bring the lighting, backdrops, and setup to your facility. It gives teams a consistent studio look without needing to travel, and it works well for youth organizations, school programs, and club teams.

Yes. I am SafeSport Trained through the U.S. Center for SafeSport. That matters for team sessions, media days, and senior portraits where I am working around minor athletes.

Yes. I photograph headshots, corporate events, team culture, and brand campaigns. I have also photographed work for Lululemon, which fits naturally with the sports and movement side of my photography.

Yes. Concerts and live events are work I want more of. The timing, light, and movement feel close to sports photography, just in a different setting.

I bring the lighting and specialty gear, and we plan the look before the session. Fire, smoke, and dramatic light all need a little more setup, but that is what makes those portraits different from a standard session.

Yes. I especially like working with seniors who do not want stiff, over-posed photos. Athletes, musicians, and students with a strong personal style are usually a good fit.

Yes. I photograph both individual and group prom or homecoming sessions. The sessions move quickly, stay relaxed, and give you photos that feel more finished than phone snapshots.

Every job is quoted based on the shoot, the timeline, and how the images will be used. Send me the basics and I will give you a clear quote.

Weddings aren't my primary focus, but I'm happy to step in as a second shooter for the right project. My skills translate well to engagement sessions and rehearsal dinners. For primary wedding coverage, I'm glad to refer you to some of the best photographers in the Williamsburg area.

I am based in Williamsburg, Virginia, and I regularly work in Yorktown, Newport News, and the greater Hampton Roads area. I also travel to Richmond and other parts of Virginia when the project makes sense.
